Midjourney has no investors. We are funded by our community.
The world has seen many kinds of research labs: academic research labs, government research labs, corporate research labs, but Midjourney might be the first large-scale experiment in community-funded research.
We allocate about half of all resources against a publicly voted feature chart and we conduct and community based model tuning. Of course, we have our own theories for what you’ll love (that’s what we do with the other 50% of our time) – but without our community we would become ungrounded and we’re ever thankful.
